Are you inspired to wake up everyday and help your community, city or world become a better place? We want to hear from you, learn your story, and hear about how you plan to share the ideas that inspire you at TEDxToronto 2016.

TEDxToronto is entering its 8th year, taking place at the Koerner Hall, Telus Centre for Performance and Learning on October 27, 2016. This full-day conference brings together people from all over Toronto, aiming to inspire the audience with the big ideas and unique stories that exist throughout our city.

Over 1,000 delegates will be personally selected by our organizing committee, as we look to curate a diverse audience of passionate individuals who will continue the conversation beyond conference day, within their individual networks.

Who are we looking for? People with different perspectives, backgrounds, opinions and ideas; people who are looking to push the status quo and who are committed to creating change in the world; people who are curious about the big ideas that exist within their communities.

We have a captivating lineup of speakers and performers who will take the stage this October – and we hope to see you in the audience.

    • 1

In our sixth year, TEDxToronto has become the largest TEDx event in Canada. We’ve grown from a 120 person conference at Toronto’s Theatre Passe Muraille in 2009, to now welcoming 1,000 delegates to join us at the the Royal Conservatory of Music’s Koerner Hall for TEDxToronto 2014. Talks from our past conferences have garnered thousands of views worldwide, and a number of TEDxToronto talks have made it into the spotlight on TED.com. So we asked ourselves- how do we continue to spread the TED and TEDx message to an even greater number of Torontonians?

    Enter the TEDxToronto Street Team.

The newly formed Street Team is tasked with introducing TED and TEDxToronto to new audiences across the city. Not only do we hope to encourage more people to apply to attend TEDxToronto as delegates, but we aim to inspire those who’ve perhaps never heard of TED to explore the vast library of TED and TEDx talks that exist online. If we can extend the reach and impact of ideas worth spreading in Toronto and beyond, the possibilities for positive change and innovation are endless.

You’ll see the TEDxToronto Street Team at a number of events and festivals this summer. They’ll be handing out info cards and stickers, hanging posters and chatting with anyone and everyone about TEDxToronto. If you see the Street Team in your neighborhood, introduce yourself! They’re eager to meet TED and and TEDxToronto fans from all walks of life.

Tomorrow evening, members of the Street Team will be onsite at Open Roof Festival as we proudly co-present the Oscar-winning documentary 20 Feet From Stardom. Join us as we watch the film and a musical performance under the stars at 99 Sudbury, and say hello to the Street Team who can answer any questions you may have about TEDxToronto. We hope to see you there!

And don’t forget, applications to attend TEDxToronto 2014 on October 2nd are now open! Apply today and join us for an unforgettable day of transformative talks from some of Toronto’s greatest thinkers and changemakers.
